About

Despite appearing in unquestionably the worst of the films, Qui-Gonn Jinn is my favorite Star Wars character. No scene in the entire sextet approximates the sheer brutal beauty of the lightsaber battle between Darth Maul and Qui-Gonn and Obi-Wan: specifically the moment, where the two are separated by the laser doors and Qui-Gonn retracts his lightsaber falls to his knees and closes his eyes. He feels, Qui-Gonn does, a deep anger and knows if he's to stand a chance he needs to somehow calm himself. Darth Maul paces, glaring at him all the while.
