"There is a sense of satisfaction in looking at your men all ready for the fray"
-- W. Somerset Maugham

This one has seen a good amount of action. We don’t play shooters as much but we’ve had this deck for a while now and it’s pretty fun.

Theme: Weakling major with big thug minors
Path to Victory: Any combination of TUCK AND ROLL, SHOOT HER OR SOMETHING, and NO MATCH FOR DROIDEKAS
Strengths: High attacks, direct damage, potentially high overall staying power, can resurrect a minor, very strong minors
Weaknesses: Weakling major with low HP and low attack power
Strategy: Line up your Droidekas and win the fire fight
Test Level: Medium
Tier: 3
Inspiration: Mostly, we just liked the Nute and Droidekas figures from The Queen’s Gambit and looked around at some decks out there to get some ideas. We borg’d the reinforcement card from Sultan’s Wat Tambor deck and BEG FOR MERCY from PD’s deck. This deck works well and is balanced despite breaking a lot of rules, such as giving minors so many hit points, giving non-personality minors talent cards and giving the minors more talent cards than the major.
Playing Nute: Nute is really just a Droideka commander who needs to stay in the background. Use the Droidekas together to dish some damage out and accept that you’ll likely lose one of them fairly early. It’s hard to win without Nute playing WHERE ARE THOSE DROIDEKAS. TUCK AND ROLL lets the Droidekas reach almost anywhere on the board, and is a really nicely set up for NO MATCH FOR DROIDEKASor SHOOT HER OR SOMETHING.
Playing against Nute: Be careful leaving your characters exposed to range attacks. The Droidekas can do heavy damage and have cards that make it easy for them to do. Nute can’t protect himself and both Droidekas, so exploit whoever is exposed with repeated attacks. Taking out Nute is always preferred but once Nute loses even one Droideka, he loses a lot of offense.
