Tobias Beckett

Minor(s): Val

I actually like where this is going.  I have other ideas for him that I couldn’t include.

Tobias Beckett
14 HP
Yellow+ Deck

Val
10 HP
Strong ranged deck

12 Talent Cards

Beckett – 9 cards

3x HEAVY SHOT
A4*.  *HEAVY SHOT does double any damage, up to 6 total.

3x QUICK SHOT
A3.  Playing this card does not count as an action.

2x SURPRISE SHOT
A3*.  *The defense card is discarded and defender takes full damage.

2x SURVIVOR
If Val is alive, move Beckett and Val up to 4 spaces each, and draw 2 cards.  If Val has been destroyed, Beckett does 3 damage to all characters he can attack, including allies.

Val – 3 cards

2x CRACK SHOT
A5.  Draw a card.

1x HELL OF A RIDE
Val and all characters adjacent to Val take damage equal to the health that Val has remaining before playing this card.  Val is destroyed.

He might look too tough with that sneaky-nasty ranged game, but a Yellow Deck with no power defense is never going to be that good.  You can’t really afford to ignore Val, though, not with that card.  It might be too strong but I’d like to see it played out.  I bet it will rarely go off for anything big, and even 4 damage is a pretty weak card considering Val is getting killed for free.

There’s little evidence in the movie that Beckett really reacts to Val’s death, but it’s a fun mechanic for a deck.

Maybe this is the perfect opportunity to bring the Demolishor deck from the Transformers game into SW Epic Duels?

I’ve been thinking this over. Beckett isn’t really a “loose cannon” — he’s calculated in what he does. At the same time, the deck could fit him in that he’s only in it for himself. It’s definitely a fun concept to install but it might a forced fit here.
